Kirina is a village of musicians, some of whom can trace their musical ancestry back over 75 generations! In this very special episode West African music legend Baaba Maal and friends perform for the village elders in honor of the new “Playing For Life” music school that is just beginning construction.

Well-known musicians from both the U.S. and the UK joined together under the name Helping Haiti to record a new version of R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts,” and the track has become the UK’s fastest-selling charity single with the biggest first-week sales of any single since 2000.
