First Position Documentary
For aspiring dancers, the world of ballet is expensive, exclusive, strenuous—and short. Feature documentary First Position captures a year in the lives of six young dancers from around the world as they train for one of the most prestigious ballet competitions in the world: The Youth America Grand Prix. In spite of injury, failure, prejudice, and poverty, these young dancers manage to remain inspired and when the curtain finally rises, to inspire everyone else.
