September 11, 2009 marks the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America. It also marks the first year that 9/11 will be recognized as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, an act signed into legislation by President Obama in April. There will be numerous events across New York City to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the attacks.
